I am elated beyond words to be inducted into the USOPC Hall of Fame. I cannot contain my excitement. I am honored and blessed beyond words I want to say thank you to anyone and everyone that has supported me from day one until now. Thank you to all who voted and thank you to Darlene Hunter, President of the NWBA for nominating me. I am in sports heaven, can't believe the names of the Paralympians and Olympians that I join in this tremendous distinction. Below are some of the media coverage of the Class of 2022.

Phelps, Hamm, Kwan ... and Kiley. NC Paralympic star takes place among Olympic greats

SCOTT FOWLER | THE CHARLOTTE OBSERVER | JUNE 26, 2022

"Fifty years ago, while snow tubing in California, David Kiley slammed into a tree, injured his spinal cord and became paralyzed from the waist down. Since then, Kiley concentrated on what he can do rather than what he can’t. What Kiley could do was scheduled to be celebrated all weekend in Colorado, when he officially became a member of the 2022 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Hall of Fame class."

PUTTING OTHERS BEFORE HIMSELF, HALL OF FAMER DAVE KILEY STILL MANAGED TO STAND OUT IN THREE SPORTS

JUNE 10, 2022 | BOB REINART

As Dave Kiley looked back on everything he has accomplished as a Paralympic athlete, coach, sports executive and promoter, it will come as no surprise to those who know him that he mentioned others before himself.

“I did a ‘Wheels of Hope’ tour in Bosnia right after the war. The national Bosnian (wheelchair basketball) team followed us around from city to city,” Kiley recalled. “We were giving wheelchairs out, and we were playing exhibition games. I saw a war-torn country and atrocities being recounted, and what we were doing was really impactful.”
